Designed to ensure that letting agents and care home managers do not fall foul of the relevant legislation, the PSPP comprises:
Gas Inspection
Inspection and test of the gas installation and appliances, i.e. gas boiler, cooker and gas fires, which also identifies any gas leaks or poisonous carbon monoxide (CO).
Gas Boiler Service
Neglected gas boilers can be a principal source of leaks and CO. Regular servicing not only protects tenants/residents, it extends the life of the boiler and ensures economic running.
Electrical Inspection
A visual and electrical inspection of up to six domestic appliances and an earth loop test to 50% of the sockets within the property.

What makes a gas-elec 'Five Star' customer? Nigel Doubleday, our gas-elec manager in the Midlands, thinks Casey Lettings in Kettering, Northants, ticks all his boxes.
Founded just a year ago, Casey Lettings has already over a hundred properties on their books. Senior manager, Claire Millward, puts their growing reputation for offering good accommodation down to the high standards of maintenance she insists on for all her properties.
Always following the government Health & Safety advice, she makes sure that every property has an initial gas and electrical safety check plus a CO detector fitted as a matter of course. "This protects the landlords and ourselves, as well as the tenants. I also think that an electrical check is vital – at least as important as the gas inspection."

They’re very prompt and can usually squeeze me in if I need a property inspected in a hurry for tenants. Now I’m going to use them to do my annual boiler services as well. Everything can be done at the same time and that makes my life a lot easier."
